Brief

The Drake & Morgan collection of highly successful London bar and restaurant venues began with The Refinery in 2008. into were briefed by the interior designers to collaborate on the creation of a sophisticated venue; many feature pendant light fittings were included in the designs so that the space appeared tailored and unique. The client sought to clearly establish themselves within the market.

Concept

Bespoke fittings designed and manufactured by into included a drop suspended pendant with black exterior and gold interior, for a warmer light from the halogen light source within. Elsewhere specified fittings were industrial and chic. Integral lighting was from a mixture of carefully selected sources. Suspended and adjustable twin gimbals were designed as part of the scheme to shine onto tables and to key walkway areas. Globe shaped bare incandescent fittings hang low on twisted flexes over the bar area to create a focal point and various other feature pendants bring together an eclectic yet considered lighting scheme.

Result

The Refinery, located in the landmark Blue Fin building in London, was the first of many sites in the now considerable Drake & Morgan portfolio. into worked cohesively with the interior designers to a create an inviting, eclectic and tailored lighting scheme, and continue to do so for further Drake & Morgan venues.
