Lightfair International, NYC

May 11, 2015

Over the past week into lighting visited Lightfair International in New York City, the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference. The last two years have seen the number of projects for into lighting in the US steadily increase as European interior designers, architects and end clients are putting the consultancy forward for US projects. Currently into are working on a hotel and several restaurant projects in Washington D.C., a restaurant in the Baha Mar development in the Bahamas and a retail concept in New York, as well as a hotel project in Brazil. These projects require an understanding of building regulations and state by state energy codes relating to lighting, together with a broad understanding of American lighting manufacturers. nyc With the increase in European hospitality operators and retailers looking to expand into the US market it is important for into lighting to be able to translate European lighting concepts into schemes that can be implemented in the US within the required guidelines. Networking with US suppliers, designers, the media and end-clients proved fruitful in developing knowledge and understanding, and furthering our portfolio of US lighting supplier contacts. The trip was an amazing experience which also coincided with New York Design Week, and has delivered a huge increase in knowledge and awareness for the whole consultancy. x-default
