Brief
into were appointed by London Clubs International to design lighting for all gaming, dining, bar and club areas at the flagship Playboy venue in London.
Concept
A concept free from shadows and flexible in it’s uses was developed for the gaming areas to provide the required light levels for the environment, and for security cameras. Areas are broken up by using varying lighting for each, including fretted pendant shades in the lounge areas and concealed detailing behind the bar. The club lighting is based around DMX addressible RGB LEDs controlled via a lighting desk.
Result
The result is a collection of spaces, including a large colour-changing dancefloor area which involves advanced LED technology. The project was a finalist in the Lighting for Leisure category at the Lighting Design Awards in 2012 and at the FX Awards in 2011.
